06 Empire Intimidator

06-empire-timmy

One of my personal favorites, the 06 Empire Intimidator set a landmark with all Bob Long Intimidators.  Super changes from the older model, it has a reduced force valve, super low-rise, improved ergonomics, bearing trigger, and a sexy look. From top to bottom, this gun is one of my favs.  Definitely consider it if you’re looking to purchase a new gun or “marker” in the near future.

Dye Matrix Comparison Chart

Dye-comparison

Have you ever wondered why Dye had to go and make a billion different Matrix models?  Well, maybe not that many… but enough to confuse people.  Have you ever been able to sit down and easily compare the differences and similarities between ALL different matrixes (including the new DM7)?  I don’t.  Because I have the nifty little Dye/Proto Matrix Comparison Chart.

The chart will cover the basics of each gun, including the DM4 to the DM7 to the PM7 to the SM6.  One of the great things is that it easily shows you the operating pressure of EACH individual gun.  So you’ll find the right gun for the right air efficiency you want; and ultimately give you right cheapest price range for the gun you want.

National Paintball and PMI Join Forces

National Paintball and PMI Merge

NEW YORK – November 17, 2006 – The competition between National Paintball Supply, Inc. (“NPS”) and Pursuit Marketing, Inc. (“PMI”) has turned to cooperation, as the two paintball industry pioneers have announced a business combination.

NPS and PMI today announced they have closed separate transactions which have the effect of combining their operations. Angelo, Gordon & Co., a $10 billion alternative asset management firm, with advice from Sagent Advisors Inc., an investment banking firm in New York, provided the equity capital to facilitate the transactions. The combined company will be a full-service provider of the broadest range of paintball products and accessories with a foundation built upon paintball’s premier brands. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

The Naughty Naughty Dogs

Ah one of my favorite videos of all time. I shot this footage the 2005 PSP season in Chicago. Rock Knuth of Team Naughty Dogs was running down the field in their final game against Team XSV – the winner would play Dynasty for first place. Rocky was so obviously hit in his arm. If you watch the video closely, he wipes up against a bunker at the end of the game to cover up the shot. Anyways, the refs being wise as they are, decided to call him on it. Rocky didn’t go down without a fight. Too bad the fight was only verbal; that would have been some grade-A video footage.

Diablo Wrath and Smart Parts Nerve

Diablo-wrathTwo more reviews have been published on the Diablo Wrath and the Smart Parts Nerve.  I’ve had little experience with the Diablo Wrath, so I didn’t review it myself.  While it is more on the cheap-o side, I’ve heard decent feedback on the gun’s performance.

Nerve-blueThe Nerve, however, I have owned in the past.  I’ve even included a video at the end of its review of me shooting the gun.  It’s quite honestly the ugliest paintball marker I have ever seen and owned.  It’s the truth.  But, it did shoot fairly decent, and I would recommend it to someone who’s looking for a diverse gun.  Their pricing has dropped immensely now that the Ion and Epiphany are released.

Also, stay tuned for another paintball giveaway that will be starting soon!

The Redz Ion Body Kit

Ion-body-kit

Redz is releasing a nice-looking body kit for the Smart Parts Ion.

Not everyone has every upgrade that Redz makes for the Ion.  So Redz decided to release a limited-edition Ion – crammed with everything Redz has made in the past.

First, they incorporated the Redz Ion Body Kit, the only kit (aside from Smart Parts’ color kit) that includes a body, regulator shroud, and grip.  Red, Blue, White and Olive are the available colors.

The Redz Ion has all of the upgrades from their “Hard Partz collection, including:

Triggerz – Lightweight delirin trigger, dual ball-bearing, 4–way adjustable, flat or 2–finger style.

Ion Bolt – Get 300+ extra shots from your tank with less kick and greater accuracy

Cam-Lock Clamping Feed Neck – This will literally “bite down” on your hopper so you never have an embarrassing moment when your hopper falls off on the break.

Pepper Stick Barrel – Supposedly a great barrel that has “supreme accuracy”.  I’ve never shot it so I can’t testify.

ASA + Rail – Let your marker breathe, or bleed it out without having to shoot it down.

(Available early – mid December 2006)

Smart Parts Epiphany

Smart Parts Epiphany

What now, Smart Parts? Oh I see, a mix a mix between your freakin’ ugly Nerve and the Ion. Well done. Just kidding, the gun isn’t even out 🙂

The Epiphany is Smart Part’s next marker. There aren’t any testing reviews out on the Epiphany, however, many already hate the gun due to its look. Personally, I think the Ion is ugly, and so did many other people when it came out a few years ago. However, the Ion’s performance outweighed its looks. I would wait until after the Epiphany has been released before making any judgments on the gun.
