Tippmann C3

Ok, so I just got the C3 in tonight (Serial # 00157). The first thing I noticed about this gun is that it is big! Of course I fire a few test shots to see how loud it is, how much exhaust it puts out (in a non ventilated area), and to see if it really does shoot sparks out the barrel. First off it is loud, almost as loud as my LPK equipped A-5. Next the exhaust isn’t too bad unless you’re sensitive to it (I fired about 50 shots in my 10’x10′ before opening the window and it didn’t bother me in the least). Finally it doesn’t shoot sparks out of the barrel… it shoots about a 6”-7” flame! Yes a flame! Of course being the smart guy I am I wanted to see if it can burn anything. First test was my bed sheets, no fire. Hmmm… what about my finger? Multiple shoots to the finger later, nothing. The air was barely even warm! Well I grabbed my camera, my tools, cranked up some classic Cream and went to town.

Here is the video of me shooting my finger.

Size Stats (all dimensions are approximately): C3 A-5
Height (feed neck to regulator) 10.5” 8”
Diameter (main body) 2” 1.25”
Overall length (A-5 w/ Flatline, C3 w/ barrel) 18” 19.75”

I start removing all of the screws, bolts, and the single A-5 style quick release pin. Everything is going pretty much like a normal gun until I remove the barrel. The barrel sticks 10” out of the gun, but when you remove the whole thing it is exactly 17 1/8” long. Not only that but this is the weirdest barrel ever because the front bolt is actually inside the barrel!

Next, I know a lot of the snipers out there are concerned with many aspects of this gun. From what I’m seeing the C3 is probably not going to suit your needs. It is ever so slightly quieter than my A-5 with a LPK but not by much. It has no rails just the iron sights, and it is very tall. I haven’t tested accuracy yet, that will come later. The iron sights are kind of cool though because the rear one slides on a ramp up and down.
