Paintball Storage
A plastic coffee can like the Folgers can is a great solution to storing paintballs both long and short term.
These are easy to carry and can be painted in any way you like to match other gear coming out of your bag. Plus it is environmentally friendly as you are reusing a can that would have to wait years to be recycled and used again. They do a pretty good job of sealing the paintballs away from moisture and other possible damage including dumping them out.
If you are going to use a metal one please take the time to make sure that all of the sharp metal pieces from cutting the can open the first time are cleaned up. These will produce a nasty cut while you are scooping out paintballs. And to say the least will ruin an otherwise good day of paintball if the cut i deep enough.
Make sure that when you paint these make sure you continue to add coats of paint frequently until it has the coverage that you wanted as repainting these after the paint has been allowed to dry will result in a bizarre wrinkled finish that is not predicable or controllable. Cost: FREE
Pod Loader Funnel
This loader is fast! Another great item that could help ease the pain of loading your pods and hoppers is a funnel. This funnel must be big enough at the opening to allow paintballs to go through to get to your pod or hopper. There is one high performance option to the old funnel trick which is easier to control and that is the paintball rocket loader.
This thing loads a pod or hopper in just seconds and is completely controllable. Plus it holds an entire case of paint at once. The manufacturer also has pole brackets available to mount it to a pole in your team’s area for fast loading. The paintball rocket will change the way you load your pods. The Rocket will shoot out over 140 balls a second. Load 5 pods in seconds. The Rocket will save you money. You won’t be dropping all those balls on the ground.
Spare O-Rings
Among the many things that can make your game much easier nothing is as helpful as spare parts. We purchased these o-rings on eBay from the user cbuisness. They were 500 count total. He threw in 100 bonus o-rings! Keeping a bag of these ready in your gear bag will make your paintball experience a whole lot better and get you back in the game faster. When you don’t have o-rings and some else does the price to acquire that o-ring usually goes way up.
Tools are also part of this whole deal. Without them you may not be able to remedy the problem in the field. Always come prepared to tear down any one of your paintball guns completely and re-assemble at the field. DO this even for your best performing guns because nothing is perfect. Cost: $5.00
Paintball Gun Stand
Finally, a stand that can hold your paintball gun while you load it instead of fumbling with it. These work nicely as they keep your rig from getting scratched up which we all know paintball guns without scratches is worth more than one that has laid in the dirt and show poor care.
Plus, using a gun stand will increase the resale value of your gun when it is time to make the move to other equipment.
Ball Sizer
A ball sizer will make your battle with ill-fitting paint much easier. You keep reading again and again how important it is to have your barrel and paint match bore size.
By matching your paint to your barrel you will increase your barrels performance and your overall accuracy. Plus on low pressure HPA rigs it is essential for efficiency and accuracy.
Stop the guessing game and match your paint. With ball sizer’s like these from Rufus Dawg costing less than $15.00 there is little reason to not be making use of a ball sizer.
Compass
Ever call out “two on the right!”, “one at 12 and 2 and 3!”? In any game this can be confusing directions for your teammates. Do you mean your 12 or his 12? Using a compass can make this job of getting accurate intelligence to your teammates. Go to the automotive accessory section of any major chain department store and you will find flat dashboard compasses. Get on and Velcro or glue it to your hopper lid. Next time you need to give out positions you can say “2 on the north tape”, “1 zig-zagging on the East”. This will make your game go much smoother.
